8 months

We have been spending a lot of time at Lake Livingston and Ian likes to ride the golf cart around the neighborhood and swim in the lake and the pool. He loves to be outside:)

Michael (G-pa) came home this month for vacation from Papua New Guinea. He will be here for about 5 weeks. We are so excited to have him home for a while:) He brought Ian a Kangaroo shirt from Austrailia. It is so cute:)

Ian loves his Mimi dog:) He thinks she is soooo funny and still loves to pull and eat her ears. She is not a very smart Chihuahua because she keeps coming back for more:)

Ian is getting so big now (about 20lbs.). He is out growing his infant bath tub and has already had to switch from his infant carrier to his big boy convertable car seat.

Just being silly!

Ian doesn't really wear shoes yet but he loves his "shocks" (shoe/socks). They have fun bows to play with.

Ian is now pulling up and standing on his own and he is still army crawling. He is so curious and wants to get into trouble. So between keeping him from grabbing things off tables and keeping him from crawling away, I have my hands full:)
AND...
January 2012 Ian will be a big brother!!!!

7 months:)

Ian is working on crawling:) He can get up on his hands and knees but he is not sure what to do next. He has mastered the army crawl. He can travel very quickly by rolling then scooting then rolling until he gets to his destination.

We started swimming lessons last week.  Ian is learning to float on his own. He is doing great! :)

I gave the dogs a bath outside because it was such a nice day and Mia decided to use the underside of my car to dry off. Silly Chihuahua:)

I got out a "new" toy for Ian and he loves to sit and examine it.  He even tried to pull himself up on it(Thanks Reed and Grant)

My first quilt:) I made this for a friend who has a baby due soon. It is a pretty simple quilt but it turned out ok for my first try:)

Peek-a-boo!!

Ian thinks the dogs are sooooooo funny!

Ian has become somewhat mobile. He can roll and army crawl all over the place and he is very curious. I just let him play on the floor and see what he will find. It is very entertaining:)

6 Months:)

6 months Woohoo!!!!
We have had a busy month. This month Ian perfected rolling over, sitting on his own, and he now has two teeth!! He enjoys screeching and yelling really loud, grabbing and pulling EVERYTHING within reach, biting and laughing.

Jeff, Stephanie, and the boys came to visit and we all went to the dog park. The dogs had so much fun and the weather was so nice. Ian loves being outdoors:) Annie and Kona (Jeff and Steph's new dog) decided to go swimming in the Bayou and then they just had to roll in the sand.
We met Stephanie, Reed and Grant and our friend Jeff at Chick-fil-A for lunch and Ian sat in a high chair for the first time:) He is getting so big.

Ian can now sit all by himself!!!!

Hanging out with Dad!

We have been swimming!!!! Ian seems to really like the water. He loves to splash!
We start Infant Swim classes May 9th. I am so excited!!! It is a 6 week course, 5 days a week. By the end Ian is supposed to be able to roll over and float fully clothed and wait for help if he falls into the water. We are around water so much during the summer and thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
Awwww! My babies:)

Fishing with Dad!
Ian favorite things to do right now are to stick out his tongue, blow bubbles, and bite everything!! His two bottom teeth came in and they are so sharp.

Ian has decided to sleep in weird positions. He is sound asleep in both of these pictures. I am not really happy with the face in the mattress but he rolls back over if I try to move him:(

Helping Mommy with laundry:)
Ian is about to outgrow his infant seat so I figured he could just sit up front with me:) J/k. I think he might chew through the belt anyway:)

5 Months!!!

I can't believe Ian is already 5 months old!!!

Ian has claimed one of his many stuffed animals for his favorite:) It is so cute! He LOVES his tiger. He hugs it, talks to it, drools on it, and tries to eat it.

I am still working on losing my baby weight (5 more lbs!! WooHoo!!) so I finally got out the jogging stroller and Ian, Annie, Mia and I have been walking around Buffalo Bayou almost everyday. Mia can't make it the whole way so she rides with Ian for part of the trail. I had to stop putting her in the stroller with Ian for her own safety. Ian likes to grab and pull her ears and seems to think they are teething toys:( Now she rides in the sunshade on top:)

Along the way there is a dog park and we stop so that Annie and Mia can play. It was a bit bright out so Ian borrowed my shades:) Cool dude!!!

We went to Ozona at the end of February for a family funeral. Shannon's Uncle Bud passed away:( It was a sad occasion but it was great to see everyone. And Ian was there to make Nana smile:)

We took Ian on the boat for the first time earlier this month. He had a great time and did not fuss at all on the ride. The baby vest was so big on him. Hopefully it will fit better this summer because he is going to be spending a lot of time on the boat:)
We also made another trip to San Antonio this month to see Nana and Pappy. Pappy got sick right before the trip and had to stay home and Whitney unfortunately, had to work.  We had a great time but missed them. Honey, Carl and Trent came down from Austin for dinner and Hope, Cody and his girlfriend Marta stayed at the hotel.  It was my first time to meet Marta and she was so much fun and great with Ian. I am so glad she was able to come:).  We stayed at a great place that has a spa, HUGE baby pool, lazy river, and a playground.  It will be a great place to stay when Ian is older:).  All the girls went for massages on Sunday before we had to check out and Uncle Cody watched Ian.

Ian is eating more solid food now. I have made sweet potatoes, squash, green beans and peas so far. He loves all of them, except green beans.

The weather was nice last weekend so Whitney and I replanted our courtyard. It turned out great!! Good job Whitney:)

I told my Aunt Honey that I wanted to start sewing. She decided I needed my own sewing machine and surprised me with one!!!! I have gone a little crazy with it. I started with a pillow because I figured that was fairly simple. I have never used a sewing machine:)

Next I made some diapers and a diaper cover for Ian. I still have a lot to learn but it has been so much fun making things. THANKS HONEY!!!!!

Ian has one tooth coming in and tries to chew on everything!!! Whitney's hat happened to be in the line of fire:) So far his teething has not been too bad. He has not been extra fussy but he doesn't sleep as well at night. Hopefully that is the worst of it:)
Also new this month: Ian is rolling over:) He can now roll from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy. Yea Ian!! :)
